Garage of Hope

Located on the church campus for distribution of gently used furniture, appliances, and kitchen/household supplies (as donated) to families in need in the area. Open Friday’s 10am-2pm or call the church office for appointment.

Missionaries we support

Borthwick, Lois & Kendall – Working through CRU at Kansas State University providing campus ministry opportunities for witness to and for Christ, spiritual growth, and helping students learn how to share the Gospel with others.     

CHOPIN Hall – Chopin Hall serves people in Hancock County by providing Mobile Food Pantries throughout the county on a regular basis. They also have available a food pantry, clothing, used appliances, etc., for people in need at their Findlay location. 

Christian Clearing House – The Hancock County Christian Clearing House is a non-profit association of churches helping to provide emergency assistance to people in need.  This coordinated effort was created to help people in a centralized location rather than having people going from church to church asking for assistance and needless duplication of services by individual churches.     

City Mission – City Mission is a ‘Homeless Shelter’ for Hancock County.  They provide meals, housing, and other services to help people in need.  Their goal is to help people find jobs, permanent housing, needed medical and psychological services, etc. so they can get back on their feet.                                                

Feed Our Kids (Arcadia) – Provides food for Arcadia School students in need through backpacks of food for weekend and during school breaks.     

Gabriel, Rene – Working through Mission Possible in their office in Findlay. Mission Possible in Haiti is working with people to provide a ‘hand-up,’ not a ‘hand out’ – requiring the people they serve to be willing to covenant with them in providing resources and support while expecting them to be faithful to the covenant agreement.                                                                                    

Good News – a fellowship of people and churches within the United Methodist Church that seeks to see that the UMC stays faithful to its roots of being an evangelical witness in the world.                              

Grace Children’s Hospital – Haiti – Grace Children’s Hospital in Port-au-Prince, Haiti is dedicated to the care and treatment of children with TB, HIV, and other diseases. They also provide pre-natal care to mothers and education in hygiene and proper nutrition.                                                         

Grismore, Dwight & Letty – Working through Cadence in Belgium; is working with dependent children of military personnel helping them come to a saving knowledge for Jesus Christ and grow as Christian disciples.                                                                                                                      

Habitat for Humanity – Apostle Build – we provide funding and ‘hands-on’ labor to help build a ‘habitat house’ somewhere in Hancock county. These builds occur every three years. Money is being set aside to fund the next Apostle Build.                                        

Hancock Co. Religious Ed – Hancock County Religious Education provides an opportunity for elementary children in many of the Hancock County Schools to participate (on a voluntary basis during school hours) in a non-denominational Christian religious education and instruction.           

Hope House – Hope House is a shelter in Hancock County for Women and their children that need both shelter and other assistance as they try to ‘put their lives back together.’                                            

KMBC – Kentucky Mountain Bible College – KMBC is an accredited four-year college in Eastern Kentucky where students can earn a Bachelors Degree in Religion.  Over 80% of KMBC graduates go on to work in ministry and mission fields – serving in over 50 nations across the globe.                                                    

Mt Carmel High School – affiliated with KMBC- Mt. Carmel High School is a private high school affiliated with Kentucky Mountain Bible College where students live in a dormitory environment while getting a high school education and growing in their Christian faith.                                                                          

RBC: Daily Bread Ministries – Our Daily Bread Ministries is a non-denominational ministry that seeks to help Christians grow in their faith by providing a variety of resources – the chief of which is the ‘Our Daily Bread’ devotional guides.                             

Red Bird Mission – Kentucky- Red Bird Mission is in the region around Beverly, KY, and serves people by providing a school and other helping organizations to provide assistance to people with their needs:  food and clothing, medical, and spiritual needs.       

Schubert, Mike & Laura – Working through Navigators mission organization, are embedded in SE Asia, seeking to make new converts for Christianity in a country where being a Christian is not allowed by the government or society in general.             

Todd, Mike – Working through Child Evangelism Fellowship which provides ministry projects in 130 countries by providing Good New Clubs and other opportunities for witness to children. Mike Todd works in the Hancock, Seneca and Wood Counties in providing these opportunities for witness and mission.                                                                           

WXLM Radio – New Vision FM – WXLM Radio has multiple Christian radio stations of various genres, based in Upper Sandusky, that seek to reach people for Christ through music and programming.  Listen to 89.3; 90.1; or 91.9 on the FM dial.                 

Youth for Christ – General support – Youth for Christ in Hancock Co. provides after school Christian programs for youth directly to some school communities and throughout the county with rallies and activities.                 

                         

Additional Missions:                                                                              

  • Operation Christmas Child - Boxes of items donated and distributed to children around the world through Samaritan’s Purse with information to accept Christ as Savior.

  • Gideons - Bible outreach provided via Gideons through envelopes found in the Narthex.

  • Noisy Offerings - received typically the 3rd Sunday of the month for current mission needs locally or around the world as determined by the Missions Committee.
